“But I Don’t Know How You Could Be So Cold.”
A year on from the success of his EP, Howling, coastal wanderer Nathan Ball has grown from a lone wolf to the leader of a pack of musicians creating a new sound with a keen sense of belonging. Inspired by the majestic landscapes of the French Mountains, ‘Right Place’ is a gorgeously expansive track that encourages listeners to embrace the environment in which they feel most at peace.
“‘Right Place’ was written when we’d just got back from a tour – playing shows up in the mountains in France.” Nathan explains. “It was an incredible trip for us. When I was back home, I picked up the guitar and started exploring this idea of a ‘right place’, a place where people feel most comfortable and happy. Whether that be a physical location or a headspace – it’s a place where people go to find peace and feel free”.
Echoing the same blissful charm and sincerity as Ben Howard with beautiful melodic tones that tenderly build to breathtaking harmonic peaks; it’s more than easy to lose yourself in Ball’s own brand of smouldering introverted alt-folk. Watch the sun stretch out across the striking valleys of your mind as his voice delves deep within your bones.
Nathan Ball plays a sold out show tonight at the Sebright Arms. Anyone missing out can grab tickets to his second headline show at Omeara in March here. But, for now, find that peaceful place the right way, by watching the vivid visuals below.
